It is with deep reverence and gratitude that I reflect on the life of my father, Professor Sir Kelvin Luke. While his passing leaves a void in our hearts, we find comfort knowing he is with the Lord, the One he faithfully served all his life. His legacy is rich with faith, wisdom, and a relentless pursuit of God's kingdom—a legacy that continues to inspire and guide us today.
Dad’s Life History
Professor Sir Kelvin Luke was born into a Christian family and grew up with a deep love for God. His life’s journey was one of faith, knowledge, and service. As the founder of End Time Bible College, he dedicated his life to equipping others with God’s Word. His teachings transcended the classroom, as he lived out the gospel he preached. At End Time Bible College, he mentored and trained future leaders, preparing them to spread the gospel and make an impact in the world. His devotion to God’s Word was more than a profession; it was his calling, and he carried it with honor and passion.
A Preacher of the Gospel and Servant of Christ
In addition to his work as an academic, my father was a passionate preacher at Saint Michael’s Anglican Church, Coker Village. His sermons were not mere speeches but life-changing messages that stirred hearts and transformed lives. Every Sunday, his voice echoed through the church, imparting wisdom and challenging us all to live Christ-centered lives. His deep faith and unwavering commitment to the gospel were evident in every word he spoke. Dad’s sermons never sought to impress but to inspire, encourage, and challenge others to pursue a life that reflects Christ.
A Loving Father, Husband, and Pillar of Our Family
At home, Dad was our rock—loving, guiding, and leading by example. As a devoted husband to Dr. Mrs. Luke, he demonstrated what it meant to love unconditionally and lead with integrity. As a father to two boys and two girls, he showed us what it meant to live with purpose and faith. His love for God always came first, and his family was the second greatest treasure of his life. Dad’s unwavering faith laid the foundation for our family, and it continues to shape who we are today.
Grief and Hope in the Face of Loss
The grief of losing him is profound, and there are moments when the pain feels overwhelming. The silence in our home now feels deafening. Yet, in the midst of our sorrow, we hold onto the hope he so fervently preached—the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Dad’s life was a living testimony of that hope. We miss him dearly, but we take comfort knowing that he has entered into the presence of the Lord, the One he so faithfully served, and we look forward to being reunited with him in heaven.
A Legacy That Will Never Fade
As we lay him to rest, we do so with the assurance that he is now in peace, rejoicing in the presence of his Savior. The Bible reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14, “We do not grieve as those without hope,” and we take comfort in knowing that our reunion with him is not far off. While our hearts ache, we hold on to the promise of eternal life and the hope that we will meet again in heaven.
Dad’s Impact Lives On
Though my father is no longer physically with us, his legacy lives on in the lives he touched. His work at End Time Bible College, his powerful sermons at Saint Michael’s Church, and his unwavering love for God and family continue to inspire and guide us. The lives he impacted through his service, both in the church and in the community, are a testament to his faithfulness.
Rest Well, Dad
Dad, your journey on earth has come to an end, but your legacy will continue to inspire us for generations. We will honor your memory by living lives that reflect the same love, faith, and commitment you demonstrated every day. Until we meet again in heaven, may your soul rest in eternal peace.
If you’ve been touched by the life of Professor Sir Kelvin Luke, take a moment to reflect on how you can honor his legacy by living with the same passion for the gospel, dedication to education, and unwavering faith that always pointed toward heaven. His life was a living example, and now, it’s our turn to carry that torch forward.
