A Christian Tribute to Barrister Mark Obi: A Loving Husband, Devoted Father, and Faithful Servant of Christ

It is with deep gratitude and sorrow that I reflect on the life of my dear husband, Barrister Mark Obi. His passing has left a void in our hearts, but we take comfort in knowing he is with the Lord, enjoying the eternal reward he faithfully worked for. His legacy of faith, love, and service will live on through us.

Dad’s Life History
Barrister Mark Obi was born on May 13, 1950, as the sixth child and only son of Nze Chibiko and Lolo Matilda Onyegbulaonweya from Umuada kindred umuchima village, Ihiagwa town, Owerri-West LGA, Imo State. As the youngest of his siblings, his name, "Mark," signified relationship between his parents and the priest when he was born. He attended Ihiagwa Community School and later Ihiagwa Secondary School. Despite the challenges of poverty, Barrister Obi pursued his education, earning a law degree from Lagos State University (LASU) in 1995. He later traveled to Germany for technical training, returning to continue his work and eventually co-founded Obi-Kemy Legal Associates with a close friend.

A Life of Service and Faith
Barrister Obi’s life was deeply rooted in his Christian faith. A member of Scripture Union since 1986 and EFAC from 1992, he became a preacher, teacher, and pastor. His ministry was marked by his quiet humility, and he passionately served others, delivering life-changing messages both in writing and from the pulpit. He authored several devotionals under Scripture Union and published two books, always eager to help others grow in their faith. He was committed to spreading the gospel, and his influence in the church and beyond is lasting.

A Loving Husband and Father
At home, Barrister Obi was the epitome of love and devotion. He was my best friend, confidant, and spiritual partner. We shared an open and honest relationship, and I never knew a day of conflict with him. As a father, he was a mentor, teaching our children the values of faith, hard work, and integrity. His influence continues to guide us, and his love remains in our hearts.

Grief and Hope
The grief of losing Barrister Obi is immense, but in our sorrow, we find hope in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. His life was a testimony of that hope, and though we miss him, we know that he is now with the Lord he faithfully served.

A Legacy That Will Live On
Though Barrister Obi is no longer physically with us, his legacy of faith, love, and service endures. His impact on the church, the legal community, and his family is immeasurable. His teachings, books, and devotionals will continue to inspire future generations, and his work will never be forgotten.

Rest in Peace, My Beloved Husband
Barrister Obi, you were everything a husband should be—loving, faithful, and devoted. I will continue to love you until we meet again in eternity. Your legacy will live on through us, and we will honor your memory by living lives that reflect the love and faith you taught us. Rest well in the eternal joy of the Lord.
